portland and seattle a couple weeks ago…
Friday, August 6, 2010
this is pretty late but decided to post anyways. made the trip out to the northwest for formula drift seattle and then got to spend a couple days in portland afterward to check out the scene with my friends james and stacey. i absolutely love that part of the country and was so stoked to finally get to check out the rose city.

this guy was in the front entry at WK…they have an awesome lobby.

portland really is a bike friendly city…seemed to have more parking for bikes than cars.

This is where the owner of skylab architecture lives. they design some of the neatest buildings in the country.
this is james and stacey’s old house. it is a rummer home which was a cousin to the eichler homes. these places are the epitomy of mid century ranch homes with cool layouts and indoor atriums.

nike campus…got to go on a shopping spree at the employee store which was pretty nice.

the rose gardens in west hills were unbelievable. oh i get it…the rose city.

watched the world cup finals with about 5,000 portland-ites in pioneer square. awesome vibe.

working backwards here…started off in seattle.

had the best fish tacos ive ever had at a place called pesos…i think the area is called queen anne. they had killer metal work on their doors and windows.

raleigh denim

here is a profile for a small denim brand that is homegrown in north carolina. i bought a pair and spent more than i normally would on a pair of jeans but once you see what goes into it you understand why. i will gladly pay more for quality.
A Love Letter For You
Sunday, June 6, 2010
while in Philly last week Andy L took me and the artpants duo, will roegge and linhbergh, on an art walk through west philly to check out the love letter murals. artist stephen powers aka ESPO painted 50 or so incredible murals with clever phrases that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. it was a lot of fun trekking through the filthy ghetto shooting photos of the pieces and then taking the train back and seeing a different perspective from above.
Brazillian Architect

This is the portfolio of São Paulo architect Vitor Penha. He has an amazing ability to mix old with, classic with midcentury modern. i enjoy the variety in materials he uses in his designs. here are some shot of a few different projects he has done.
